The Challenge of Injustice
But it was those who did not believe in God who had the most trouble. One girl, who said she did not believe in God, said that even years after the crime there should be justice — ‘even after death’ there should be justice. The others agreed with her. In their minds there was something unjust on a cosmic level with there being no final justice.
The Argument for God
We can no more scientifically verify God than we can the philosophical idea of the Good, and still we all know or we are all at least able to appreciate the benefits of ethics. Do to others as you would have them do to you, treat people as ends in themselves and not as means to our own ends; so we intuitively understand the value of common goodness.
